5 Tips For A Successful Audio Career

5 Tips for a successful Audio Career

Hi Friends, I hope you’re doing marvellously well!
There are many key ingredients to building a successful career in music. In this video, I want to share the top 5 things I’ve found to be the most important over the course of my career.

While mastering your craft and possessing the technical skills required is essential, there are things, that can make an ever bigger impact: That is your people skills, your passion and your persistence.

What are my 5 tips for success in music?

  1. Love What You Do:
Do what you love and pass your love and passion for music on to others: Encourage people around you, inspire others, and as you grow, help others around you grow as well. Be a person who’s energy is something others want in their lives. – Passion is contagious!
  1. Have The Courage To Fail:
As you grow and develop, don’t rest on your laurels. Experiment, keep learning and evolving and try out new ideas! No one wants to be seen or judged by their failures, but you have to invite the possibility of failure to be able to improve and innovate!
  1. Commit Yourself Fully And With Passion:
Be all in and strive to make the best music you can – at all times. That commitment may involve long hours but it demonstrates who you are as a person, your passion for Life, Art, Music and humanity.
  2.  Work With The Best People You Can Find:
The people you surround yourself with directly effect you and your results. Great musicians, writers, artists and other Producers, Engineers and Mixers will inspire you and drive you to achieve the best results. Working in isolation can be incredibly rewarding but real growth can be accelerated with an amazing team member!
  3. Dare To Be Different:
We get tied into genres, they are a safety net because we know the tricks that work within a particular genre. Break out of the box, embrace a different sound, a different approach to writing and recording, and expand your musical horizons. Some of the best music ever made has come from innovating, making ‘mistakes’ and blending different music influences and styles.
