A New Industry Standard Podcast Mic? – Earthworks Icon Pro

Earthworks750

Today, we are going to do something we have never done before: review a podcast mic! We will be testing out the Earthworks Pro XLR Streaming Microphone in today’s video, and comparing it to the Shure SM7, which we typically use on a daily basis.

We are also lucky enough to get to give away one of these microphones! Enter below for your chance to win an Earthworks Pro XLR Streaming microphone!

If you know Earthworks, you likely know that they are famous for a mic called the M30. The reason why that is widely known is because the M30 is the industry standard for measurement mics. They sell them as a pair, and they get used all the time for measurement. We actually own a pair ourselves! Earthworks if very well known for making very flat response, very accurate microphones.

We have never used a podcast microphone before, so we are going to pit this mic against the other industry standard: the Shure SM7. We will put a pop screen on both, and there will be no EQ or compression added to either mic during recording or in post.

Check out the video below to hear the difference between each microphone! Don’t forget to scroll up to the top to enter for your chance to win one as well!
