The D.I. we’re giving away today is very special: The Wb-3 replicates the original Motown D.I. Box of the 60 s and 70s to the t. It is a powerful and colorful D.I. which adds a unique character and saturation to your recordings due to it’s built in vintage transformers. Acme Audio chased down the original manufacturer and got them to produce the original transformers again after not building them for 35 years!

The original D.I. Box, which the WB-3 is modeled after was used rigorously through all the amazing Motown records we all know and love: Dennis Coffey of the Funk Brothers used this box for his recordings instead of using an amp, so you can imagine the kind of character and saturation this little beast can bring to the table. Rumor has it that James Jemerson use it, too!

The Acme Audio D.I. is hand crafted in Detroit and produced in limited quantity. I would definitely love to have one of those to my collection!
