Andrew Scheps: 3X Grammy-Winning Audio Engineer & Producer

Andrew Scheps is a 3-time Grammy-winning audio engineer, producer, and record label owner based in Los Angeles and the United Kingdom. Scheps is known for his balanced, modern sounding and often loud mixes. He’s received Grammy Awards for “Best Rock Album”, “Album Of The Year”,and ”Best Reggae Album”. His Credits include Lady Gaga, Jay Z, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Adele, Zac Brown Band, Green Day, Hozier, Ziggy Marley and many more.

Andrew got his start after graduating from the Recording Engineering Program at the University of Miami. He landed a job working as a field service technician on the Synclavier, for New England Digital at the time the Synclavier was one of the first digital synthesizers/samplers/ workstations made. Before long he was brought on tour with Stevie Wonder as a keyboard tech and mixing live sound for Michael Jackson.

Andrew decided to settle in LA, having gotten into mixing a few years before the analog-to-digital revolution, Andrew worked with a collection of vintage gear at his Punkerpad West studio in Van Nuys, California, including a Neve Electronics BCM-10 with ten 1073s that were used for reference during the Waves Audio Scheps 73 plugin modeling process.

Andrew has been mixing from home for over 20 years and since Hozier’s first album in 2015, he has gone completely in the box.
