Mixing Progressive Metal – Animals As Leaders’ Red Miso in Dolby Atmos

Animals as Leaders is a progressive metal band known for their innovative and technical approach to music. In 2021, they released their sixth studio album, “Parrhesia,” which was mixed in Dolby Atmos, a cutting-edge audio format that allows for an immersive and three-dimensional listening experience. The Dolby Atmos mix of “Parrhesia” takes the band’s already complex and intricate sound to new heights, creating a sonic landscape that is both expansive and detailed.

The Dolby Atmos mix of “Parrhesia” is a prime example of how this technology can enhance the listening experience. From the opening notes of the first track, “Monomyth,” the listener is enveloped in a dense, swirling sound that seems to come from all directions. The intricate guitar work of Tosin Abasi, the band’s founder and lead guitarist, is given even greater depth and complexity in this mix, with each note and chord ringing out in a clear and distinct way.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the Dolby Atmos mix of “Parrhesia” is the way it creates a sense of space and atmosphere. The album’s production is already top-notch, with a clear and detailed sound that allows the listener to hear every nuance of the instruments.
