Good Day to You All,
We’re back at The Village Studios!
This time with our good friend, Emiliano Caballero, and he’s here to cover the Audient Oria – an immersive music production interface that offers something completely unique:
It’s the first ATMOS-ready interface that exists on the market!
But before we get into any specs, let’s watch Emiliano as he mixes one of his band’s (Zelmar) tracks IN the Oria [headphones recommended] in a room configured to 7.1.4 surround specs.
Note: the interface also supports speaker configurations up to 9.1.6.
For the demo, Emiliano uses a beautiful song, “Nueva York”, which he wrote, performed, and produced with his band Zelmar. Check out the song on Spotify
He also shares a couple of ATMOS-specific mixing tricks (focused on simple elements like his acoustic guitar and vocal parts) like the ability to visualize the size of the audio elements within a representation of the room.
Some Interface Specs
The interface is equipped with:
- (Optional) Dante Inputs
- Word Clock Input & Output
- AES Outputs
- ADAT Inputs (16 channels)
- Surround Outputs (16 Balanced)
- Dedicated Stereo Outputs
DSP Software Capabilities
In the video, Emiliano starts us off with calibration profiles, using the DSP software. Audient’s Oria DSP gives you a visual representation of the room’s 7.1.4 speaker points, and enables you to easily tweak the freq response (via parametric EQ) for each point (RTF, LTF, LFE, etc.) as well as trim, delay, and crossover (bass management).
Do you operate in multiple mixing enviroments?
Not a problem. With the Oria’s included DSP, you can save profiles, for your room calibration, and recall them at any time. Imagine the possibilities…being able to switch profiles, specific to different studios – marvellous!
Additional Integrations and Features
For all of you that work with Pro Tools – the latest version (as of the release of this video) comes with Dolby ATMOS integrations, which will work seemlessly with the Oria hardware and DSP – Emiliano saves us time by walking us through the process.
And if you’re looking for even more control, and extra features, Audient also created companion software utilizing Sonarworks‘ SoundID Reference, which acts as an audio interface controller with multichannel calibration (there is an included 60-day trial for the software, which is also available as a bundle when purchasing the Oria).
Get excited My Friends as this is a one-of-a-kind demo of a cutting-edge product and we’re excited to share the experience with you!
Thanks so much for watching, and we’ll see you next time!
-Warren
