Dave Kushner has had a long and varied career in music, having not only been a part of Velvet Revolver (one of rock’s most premiere super groups), but also having worked in film composition for shows such as “Sons of Anarchy” and “Hisss”. Dave took the time to talk to Warren about what it was like growing up in the blooming LA music scene.
Dave went to school with Slash (back when everyone knew him as Saul!), and spent much of his early music career performing in the local area. In fact, one of his bands Electric Love Hogs even headlined for acts like Tool and Rage Against the Machine! Check out this poster:
Having known Slash for much of his early life, this was one of many ins to Velvet Revolver. Once he had learned some of the tracks, the search was on for a lead singer, which as we well know, would eventually be Scott Weiland from the Stone Temple Pilots.
