Eva Reistad is an audiophile and sound scientist known for getting amazing guitar tones, wrangling in the largest of mixes and sessions, and being able to patch together most recording studios. Located in the entertainment hub of Los Angeles, she has spent a large portion of the last decade wiring together studios, soldering NS-10 speakers at 3 am, and learning to troubleshoot the ever-expanding digital world of audio mixing- all with a smile.
Hailing from the arctic circle known as Minnesota(also the birthplace of Prince) Eva migrated West in 2011 to work at the infamous Nightbird Recording Studios underneath the Sunset Marquis. There she learned the skills of running sessions under pressure, while maintaining composure amongst clients such as Steven Tyler, Pharrell, Miley Cyrus, Brittney Spears, and plenty of other house-hold names.
After moving to East Los Angeles in 2013, she found a different home and newfound love for analog gear at the indie-rock haven known as Kingsize Soundlabs. There she session-managed a team of interns and talented engineers across a multi-studio complex, while also recording commercials, bands, vocalists, voice-overs, and sample libraries.
In 2016 Eva went full-time freelance, and shortly after found herself helping out at Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control Productions. It didn’t take long for her to become immersed in the world of film scoring, assisting Alan Meyerson on a number of feature films including Captain Marvel, Lion King, Aquaman, and Mulan to name a few.
Along with recording and mixing, it’s not uncommon for her to be called upon for a variety of other skills- including soldering BG2s together for Highland Dynamics, editing top-charting podcasts such as Fatal Voyage, singing on scores such as Aquaman, and running live playback for the international Hans Zimmer Live tour.
