Marc Daniel Nelson, the Grammy-nominated music producer, and PMA winner has joined us at Produce Like A Pro to give you guys a complete tutorial on how to mix a song from the artist Jerimiah Jones called Tick My Lonely. It is a song that Marc had mixed just over a year ago and in this course, he shows us exactly what he does.
Marc Daniel Nelson has been in the music industry for over 20 years and has mentored under a few of the greatest producers and audio engineers of all time including Bill Schnee, Tim Butler, and Doug Sax.
In his career, Marc has gained many music credits with Jason Mraz, Colbie Callait, Caillat, Eric Burdon, Fleetwood Mac, Rusted Root, and several others. He is also credited for producing music in the film industry, titles include Blade Runner, Wild Horses, Point Break, Father Figures, and The Vietnam War.
Marc has mentioned before that when it comes to creating a “huge” mix, with great sound, less is more. When talking about his process while creating a mix he says “The less you do to harm something, the stronger it is.”
In this course, Mark goes in-depth on creating the mix for the pop track Tick My lonely. There are guitar sounds, synthesizers, drum sets, and other instruments. There are plenty of things going on in each bus, and Mark does an excellent job breaking down his process for us in this video.
