I recently had some fun trying out Audient’s iD14 interface paired with their ASP800 8-channel Preamp.
The iD14 is extendable and connectable to the ASP800 via an Optical out, which also supports ADAT.
I recorded acoustic guitars, bass and electrics, tested the ASP800 coloration/saturation settings on each of these instruments. You can watch my demo here:
I really loved the saturation feature on electric guitars and I can imagine they would sound great on vocals as well. The ASP800 also offers a lot of “pro” features for an entry -level preamp, like the Word Clock input for example.
Overall great product at a great price-point! If you own a DAW, you can create rock ‘n’ roll history with this bundle! It offers all the features you need in an interface and pre-amp and provides enough inputs to record a whole drum-set.
