How to mix MASSIVE Rock Guitars with Ulrich Wild, Bob Marlette & Warren Huart

How to mix MASSIVE Rock Guitars

Somebody recently asked me “how many guitars is enough on either side to create a large guitar sound?”

The best way to show you how to achieve a massive guitar sound is to show you the approaches of 3 different professional mixers/producers/engineers (including myself!).

The first 2 techniques are from Mixing Metal with Ulrich Wild & Warren Huart. Ulrich and I both mix the same song in two different ways!

I mix in a hybrid fashion, so you’ll get to see some of the EQ and Compression that I do inside of the box, but you also get to see the EQ and Compression that I do on my SSL using Pro Tools.

Ulrich mixed the same song, entire in-the-box, in Logic!

The third excerpt is by a very good friend of mine, Mr. Bob Marlette. Bob is going to show us what he does to get massive guitar sounds. It’s really cool. It’s not just the mix process. It’s additional production to make the guitars sound absolutely massive!

For those of you who want to know about big rock guitars, and how to make them sound massive, get these two courses here:
