Interview with Bassist and Producer Greg Richling

Greg Richling is a bassist, producer and music innovator. He wrote songs, recorded and toured with the Wallflowers for 20 years.  He’s played bass on albums for Fiona Apple and Macy Gray as well as producing and songwriting in LA. Greg is also an entrepreneur who started Unkovr.com, a music discovery platform curated by top industry professionals.

About 16 years after Napster, Greg was contacted by BitTorrent Now to run their music division. BitTorrent Now is built on the technology that made Napster possible, but the difference was that BitTorrent Now gave artists 90 cents on the dollar. Streaming music is an extremely decisive issue, but there is no doubt it is here to stay and Greg is always looking for ways to connect us with talented, undiscovered artists.

Greg recently partnered with Stand Sound, based in LA. He has created a way to connect the best musicians and composers in this world famous music hub to Film makers directly. Stand Sound is already an established world class post production facility. They offer sound editing and sound design services and have a lovely Dolby 5.1 theater as part of their studio, where film makers can hear what the finished product will sound like in theaters.
