Jason LaRocca: Punk Frontman Turned Film Score Producer

Jason LaRocca has enjoyed success on both sides of the glass. He formerly contributed vocals and guitar to acclaimed LA punk band, The Briggs, and by the age of eighteen, Jason had also become a producer and recording engineer!

Jason is that guy in the world of film and TV engineering. He works with tons of movie studios, recording and mixing music for major motion pictures like Aquaman, Bad Boys for Life, Paddington, The Accountant, Joy, Godzilla: King of Monsters, Blockers, Blumhouse horror hit Ma, and the 2018 Oscar-winning documentary Icarus.

Jason has been working out of The Fab Factory for several years now! We actually had a quick chat with Jason a few years ago during a tour of The Fab Factory!

LaRocca lent his mixing expertise to one of the most successful video games ever made.

Jason also mixed the music for the most successful free-to-play video game of all time, Fortnite. In his naturally multi-faceted style as musician and technician, Jason tends to not just engineers scores, but produce them as well — adding his own touch to sound design and instrumentation.

In addition to working extensively in film, Jason has recorded and mixed for many television shows as well. Some of his TV credits include ABC’s hit fantasy series, Once Upon A Time, Godfather of Harlem, Black Mirror, American Crime Story, A Series of Unfortunate Events, American Gods, and Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger.

His upcoming projects include feature films Bill and Ted Face the Music, Marvel’s Morbius, and CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated open-world action-adventure game, Cyberpunk 2077.
