The WS-12 Subwoofer is a 1000W powered subwoofer, and is the most powerful studio subwoofer available for under $1000. Nathan Baglyos from Kali Audio told us for the purpose this subwoofer was created for is two-fold. First, they were thinking about someone who has a pair of LP-6’s and is working out of a home studio, especially a person who also wants to go out and play live. Right now, there are not a lot of great subwoofer options for that person. There are some great 18-inch subs out there, but the 10 and 12 inch subs that are available don’t play below 40 Hertz, meaning they would ned two subs, because they would need a studio sub and a live sub.

The WS-12 is perfect for both! It sits under the desk and can be your studio subwoofer 90% of the time, but if you also want to go out and play a gig with a Fender Passport ot a Yamaha Stagepas or any of those portable PA systems, this sub will be able to keep up with that and give you real low end.

The second type of person this subwoofer was designed for is people who are working in a larger studio with larger studio monitors. The WS-12 is a very powerful subwoofer, so it will be able to keep up with any speakers you may have. You can also tune it for all of your speakers! There are tons of settings on the back of the WS-12, which ensures you can tune it to your speakers to make sure you are getting the absolute best sound and settings for your room.

This subwoofer is truly amazing and will be great for anyone in any studio! I strongly believe in using subwoofers, especially when you are learning you room and learning your craft, and this is a great one to invest in. It works with any speaker and will work for you whether you are in your studio or playing live.
