In todays video we take a look at one of the Plugins that impressed us the most at this past NAMM 2024. A plugin that alone can give you radio-ready masters in minutes, The Master Plan by Music Hack.
I was already told of this plugin at NAMM by our friend Joe Carrell so we visited their booth and to say the least I was blown away not only by its sound and features but how loud you can really push it before reaching distortion and keeping the mix intact.
So now I get to take a deeper dive into the plugin, with not having used it before and discover its features over three of my own mixes.
Afterwards we get to see Joe revisit the plugin himself and see how he uses it on one of his own mixes.
First things first, the interface is very simple and easy to follow. It was made to mimic the many steps a professional mastering engineer takes to provide a polished, release ready master. One of the most impressive aspects of the Masterplan is the ability to turn up LOUD but keeping the mix intact using the loud knob that uniquely marriages a clipper and limiter. Then you’ve got the controls underneath to tune all ranges of your mix that include: thick, clean, smooth, calm and finally tape saturation. And just as important as the tone is the loudness level itself. To help with this the Master Plan comes with different meter options and controls to monitor the average loudness, short term loudness true peak and the difference between LUFS-S and Peak.
It’s safe to say the Masterplan is going to make its way to many master bus’s as it should. But don’t just take my word for it, try the demo and decide for yourself!
