To many of us, mastering can seem like a mystical process but, it doesn’t have to be. We know that it’s a necessary part of taking a mix to the finish line, and making it ready to release to the masses. The question that no doubt arises, “can we create great masters at home using only plug ins?” The source of this question can no doubt come from seeing a mastering engineer’s desk with lots of lovely outboard gear to process music through and make commercially ready.
Today, we are blessed to sit down with the insanely talented Warren Sokol from United Mastering.
Warren is professional mastering engineer that has worked on songs from many top acts including: The Band Perry, Imagine Dragons, Lana Del Ray, The Moody Blues, Public Enemy, Method Man and the TV Show, The Voice. Warren Sokol takes us through 3 different songs in 3 different genres and demystifies the mastering process using only plugins.
