Matt Lange is a Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum selling electronic music producer, DJ, composer, and musician. His music challenges categorization, and a hallmark of Matt’s work is his devotion to pushing musical boundaries. He’s perhaps best known for co-producing These Hopeful Machines with Brian Transeau (BT) and Goodbye with DJ Glenn Morrison — the former earned him a Grammy nomination in 2011.

Matt was introduced to music at a very young age when his parents started piano lessons at 4-years-old. Two years later, he joined a boys’ choir which he stayed with for six years before picking up the guitar and eventually forming a hardcore punk band. His interest in production and recording began some years later when he discovered Aphex Twin and Nine Inch Nails. Matt started to experiment with basic beat programming which he would then record guitars over. Later on, he attended Berklee College of Music for production and sound design.

After graduating, he had the opportunity to work on BT’s These Hopeful Machines album, which was a big break so early in his career. Matt was introduced to BT by one of his Berklee professors, whom BT considered a mentor. A year later, he founded his own label, Isorhythm, as a platform to release his own music and was nominated for a Grammy for his work with BT the year before.

In 2013, he worked on another big record with Canadian DJ Glenn Morrison. “Goodbye” charted on the Canadian Top 100 and was also nominated for a Juno Award, earning a 2x platinum certification. In 2018, Matt was a producer on the Thirty Seconds To Mars album AMERICA which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
