Mixing Modern Metal with Jordan Valeriote

Jordan Course2-750

Jordan Valeriote is a Canadian producer/mixer/engineer and the founder of Hardcore Music Studio. He has worked with bands like Silverstein, Neck Deep, Forevermore, Intervals, Counterparts, Nick Johnston, Auras, and many more.

Jordan first got started in music by learning how to play the guitar when he was very young. Throughout high school and into his early 20s he played in punk rock bands and other hardcore bands. He first caught the bug for recording the very first time one of his bands when into a studio. He had a friend who was in college for recording arts and was going to record Jordan’s band for one of his projects. As soon as Jordan walked into the studio he knew that was what he really wanted to do.

Over the next few years, he continued playing in bands, and eventually ended up being able to take over a studio that a friend has set up. Because he was connected in the local music scene, he had a fairly good network of other bands and started to record his own bands and other locals bands.

After a while he got an internship at a bigger studio in Toronto, and that experienced changed the way he approached everything. Watching big records get made and being in that environment taught him a lot about recording and mixing.

Today, Jordan focuses more on mixing than recording, and is the founder of Hardcore Music Studio, where he teaches engineers how to make label-quality records.

He has also just released a course with our friends over at Pro Mix Academy! In Mixing Modern Metal with Jordan Valeriote, you will learn how to create pro-level metal mixes.
