Mixing Rock Kick Drums with Cameron Webb

Mixing Rock Kick drums with Cameron Webb

In this video, Grammy winning producer/engineer Cameron Webb shows us how to use EQ, Compression and Samples to mix Punk Rock kick drums with just the right amount of polish and trashiness to them.

Cameron is an amazing producer who has made and mixed records for Motörhead, Silverstein, 311, Pennywise, NOFX, Godsmack, and Tenacious D just to name a few. Cameron’s studio, “Maple Sound Studios” is located in Santa Anna, CA and is built around his many wonderful analog tube compressors and his beautiful Trident 80-C console. – But in this tutorial, he mixes using purely stock plugins for you!

In December of 2016 we released the Mixing Motörhead course where Cameron walks through how he mixed the Motörhead song “Electricity”.  A few weeks ago we stopped by Maple Sound studios again to spend time with Cameron and while we were there we filmed a live Q&A, filmed a “Show us your Studio tour“, and filmed a new course.  In this course Cameron mixes a Punk song that he produced with the local L.A. band The Runaway Kids. This course releases Friday July, 14th and you are absolutely going to love it! Cameron walks through his every element of his mix, gives an inside look at his production philosophy, and does a walk through of how he set up his studio to record the band for this single. So keep an eye out!

If you want to get your hands on this course right away, we’ve currently got a 50% Off Pre-Sale going, where you grab ‘Mixing Punk’ and ‘Mixing Motörhead’ as a bundle for just $67. I hope you enjoy this video and learn a ton!
