NAMM Day 4 – Audio Genius Paul Wolff – AI with Flosstradamus and more!

So like all good things NAMM finally came to an end on Sunday 28th, my Birthday!

Did I save the best to last? Maybe, maybe not? There was so much amazing gear and frankly, more importantly so many amazing people! Trade shows are THE best way to connect with the people behind the gear, post pandemic it reminds us just how amazing actual real human interaction is!

First up in today’s video we have a true audio genius Paul Wolff, a man who once owned API, has either designed and/or been involved in the API Lunchbox, Tonelux, Fix Designs, Slate Raven, Monitor Controller and Mic Pre, the Sunset Sound Tutti Mic Pre, Sound Techniques Console and so much more!

Next we speak to our friend Curt Camerucithe DJ, Flosstramdamus taking us through the innovation of AI, there’s even a little AI manipulation of me sort of sounding, kind of like, a Beatle!

Floss showed as an App that will generate a song in seconds that takes any genre you suggest and any lyrical idea, so I said ‘Reggae EDM’ and a song about a dog falling in love with a cow! Within seconds we got this:

Rasta Puppy Love https://app.suno.ai/song/6df6e39c-57d8-4cd3-9e6e-8c4431073cd1/ and Paws and Hooves https://app.suno.ai/song/cfbc80a7-14a1-4080-b9b1-2b6772837dba/

The technology is moving fast for instance here are three places you can check out doing AI voice cloning: AI voice cloning: An APP http://www.tryreplay.io – APP, a community http://www.weights.gg and Floss’ own company http://www.rubin.audio

After Flosstradamus we moved on to talk to Nir at SoundRadix about Auto Align 2, which is superb, especially on the track we recorded at Sunset Sound with Jonah Smith, a fully live song with the great Blair Sinta on Drums and Jon Button on Bass.

Next up was one the smartest people I know, Colin McDowell of McDSP showing us the latest version of his plug ins. Ruben, the inventor of the Transient Designer at Elysia gave us a sneak peak of a radical new product! Stefan at Rock Reupel and Andrew Myburgh at Myburgh Microphones round out a great last day at NAMM!
