Podcast #20 – Val Garay

Hi, Friends!

Many years when I was a little kid in England a song came on the Radio when were driving in my Aunt and Uncles car, the song was ‘Romeo’ by a band called Mr Big (not the late 80’s band). It had that feel good Badfinger meets California sound, I assumed wrongly that it was a US band but it wasn’t.

Check the Band’s wiki here:-

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr_Big_(UK_band)

The band was Produced by none other than the great Val Garay, he brought that classic 70’s sound such as an amazing acoustic tone that he’s famous for with James Taylor. Val with Peter Asher is a huge part of The sound of West Coast Rock in the 70’s, his resume is wonderful, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, J.D.Souther, Randy Meisner, Neil Diamond, the list is endless!
Please enjoy the interview with Val, I feel very blessed to be able to sit in a room with him and soak up the amazing amount of information he shared with us!
