REVV GENERATOR 120-1

In today’s episode, I’m joined by Derek Eastveld from REVV Amplification!

You all know I am a big fan of REVV gear and today we’re going to be talking about the REVV Generator 120. – This amp is their 4 channel flagship amp.

The first channel we tried out was the Clean Channel and the low end was just beautiful, no reverbs, no delays just the sound of the amp. – Just gorgeous

The second channel on the Generator 120 is the Crunch channel. We started with the gain channel rolled back at the edge of break out. –  The tone I get on this channel is where I live. To me this is my “clean sound”, that’s what tube amps are all about. – Adding more gain made it sounds just like the ’60s,

We followed up with the purple channel which is the 5150-ish (tight rhythm, high gain channel) This is where all the switching comes in for REVV, the Generator 120 has a fat switch (low mid push), contour (upper mid push), bright(treble boost), and aggression which Revv is known for.

The aggression adds more saturation but also slightly changes the EQ as you do it. Aggression has different levels which determine the amount of saturation and push. On the red, you will have a way more saturation and a low mids push and on the blue, the amp gets a little bit wider.

The Rhythm channel sounds great you can hear the saturation move as it cycles through the aggressions – It’s a lead guitars players dream.

The Forth channel is the lead channel, I was surprised that the Rhythm channel wasn’t the lead – It sounded so marvellous.

The lead channel It has a little more sag, more bottom and it blooms a little bit better.
