Scott Baxendale: Acoustic Conversion Process

RE-MANUFACTURED ACOUSTIC-1

It’s always Christmas when you get a box from Mr. Scott Baxendale! – I’m so excited!

I’ve had my Silvertone for ages, but it was destroyed by Delta Airlines so I used their Delta Tape for the patch – haha.

I sent a photograph of this to the rather wonderful Scott Baxendale who re-manufactures Harmony’s and Silvertone’s. Scott does these beautiful conversions where he takes off the top and puts brand new struts and bracing in. He can take a guitar that sounds dull and turn it into one that has a more rounded and sophisticated tone while still sounding absolutely beautiful.

We sent him my Silvertone and he worked his magic on it. Luckily for us, they were kind enough to film their re-manufacturing process!

Scott completely rebuilt the top. It was smashed to pieces by Delta and was held together by tape.

He said, “unfortunately when we pulled off the bridge and put on the new one we lost the American flag sticker that was on it” but he found me another one to go in there. There’s also new scratchplate on it that matches the original.

To say it sounds like a new guitar is an understatement of the decade- it’s hard to believe this is the same incredible guitar.

What a work of art! It’s a completely different guitar; brand new machine heads to match the originals, brand new bridge, the neck has been straightened and re-fretted. The strings are gorgeous I need to find out what he’s using!

It is impossible to believe this is the same guitar, absolutely amazing – Wow

Thank you Scott, you are a master craftsman, you’re a gentleman, a scholar and this is unbelievable! We’re going to be using this all over the place! We already use the other Baxendale everywhere, but we’re going to be using this even more!!
