Waves MDMX Plugin Demo & FAQ Friday

Waves MDMX

This FAQ Friday we have another double-header in our video! I will be answering an FAQ Friday question, as well as doing a demo of yet another Waves saturation distortion plugin, the Waves MDMX.

Before we get into all that though, we just wanted to remind you that the Black Friday Insanity Sale is still going on! This means that yearly Produce Like a Pro Academy Memberships are still only $99! Make sure you get in on this amazing deal before it’s gone!

We’ve done a couple of reviews and demos for Waves plugins in the past couple of weeks, and they have come out with yet another one! The Waves MDMX Distortion Modules plugin is actually three plugins in one, and will give you quick access to the greatest distorted sounds you know and love.

Based on musicians’ all-time favorite effects, this plugin contains three unique-sounding color boxes and modes: Screamer, Overdrive, and Fuzz. Screamer gives you fat, round saturated tones inspired by the classic overdrive effect. Overdrive offers versatile overdrive with a serious amount of control, from subtle soft clipping to enhance an instrument, to aggressive oversaturation. Fuzz offers two distinct fuzz flavors with outrageous amounts of saturation and sustain, plus a 1-octave up/down effect for added thickness.

Something that I love about this plugin is that is gives you the randomness you would get out of a console, while being totally in-the-box. A lot of professionals have tons and tons of expensive outboard gear and pass everything through it – sometimes without even touching the gear – which adds tiny bits of saturation and wonderful warmth to the sound as well.

This plugin offers amazing tweakbility, with on-board dynamics, EQ, and tone controls, “temperature” controls that control overall color and wamrth, mix controls to blend the clean and distorted signals, and so many more! I will definitely be using this plugin a lot!

Waves always releases great plugins, and this one is no exception! Click here to get your own MDMX Distortion Modules Plugin!
