What's New at NAMM Part 2

There were so many exciting new things at NAMM this year, we had to break everything up into two videos! In today’s video, you are going to get a sneak peek at a couple pieces of software that have not been released yet! These are both very exciting pieces of software and it was amazing to get the opportunity to get an early look at them. I hope you enjoy it!

Decibel by Process Audio

Decibel is the second plugin from the brand Process Audio, and it is available as either a standalone app or as a plugin. This multi-meter plugin is completely modular, which means you will have a canvas/grid in the background, which you can then use to create the meter of your dreams. There are quite a few modules to choose from, and since the layout is completely customizable, you can choose which modules are open, how big they are, and more!

The software is compatible with any iOS device, and you can create your setup using multiple devices. For example, if you have an iPad or two, you can connect those to your computer, and use those screens as an extension of the interface. When multiple devices are connected, there will be tabs on the bottom of your screen, corresponding with each device. Simply select the tab for the device you want, and then you can choose which modules appear on that device.

In addition to the layout of the meter, you can even customize the color profile! There is a color palette that you can use to create your own custom colors, or you can choose from the presets available in the software. There are a number of presets, some of which are based on superheroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther, and Hulk!

Process Audio is hoping to launch Decibel within the next couple of months, so keep your eyes open for that! This is going to be a great plugin!

Luna Recording System by Universal Audio

The Luna Recording System is a new piece of software from Universal Audio that works with Apollo interfaces to transform them into fully-integrated Mac-based recording systems. This recording system will be compatible with current Apollo Thunderbolt interfaces, and take everything you’ve seen in the Apollo console and integrate it into a 1 or 2 window workflow.

Within the Luna Recording System, you will have multitrack audio recording, with unlimited tracks, unlimited busses, MIDI tracks, and everything else you would expect in a recording system. With Luna, you will now be able to record, mix and edit with your Apollo.

Alongside the full Apollo integration, and all the extensions available within Luna, there are also instruments in Luna. Each of these instruments have great features, for example, on the Ravel grand piano, you can easily blend between your close mic and your room mics, and with the way this piano was recording, you can create some truly beautiful, natural-sounding piano.

The Luna Recording System is set to be released in Spring 2020, so you can look forward to that! The best part of this recording system, is that is will be FREE! The Luna Recording System will be free to use with all Apollo interfaces, which is amazing! We are very excited for its release!
