Most of today\u00b4s plugins are very well designed and can actually make a huge different in your mixes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">But what\u00a0matters more than anything else\u00a0is having a good listening environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>You can\u00b4t mix what you can\u00b4t hear!<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">If you don\u00b4t have a listening environment you can rely on, you won\u00b4t be able to make the right mixing decisions. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">&#8211; Not even with 500 k worth of analogue hardware.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The importance of a good listening environment gets\u00a0underestimated by a lot of young engineers and it\u00b4s one of the main problems a most home-studio owners are struggling with.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">How does it show?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">You\u00b4ll know you\u00b4re having this issue if you\u00b4ve finished up on a mix and are happy with the results. You\u00a0print it out and take your mix to the car or any other playback system. &#8211; Only to find that it sounds completely different from\u00a0what you\u00b4ve heard in your studio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">This can be very frustrating and confusing. Especially if you\u00b4ve worked hard on a mix for many hours, just to find that the final result is less than presentable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">At this point, you might feel like:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><em><strong>&#8220;I\u00b4m never going to get good at mixing!
