So when we had the opportunity to visit Tony Buchen we couldn&#8217;t pass it up!<\/p>\n<p>Tony is currently using two <strong>Coil Audio amplifiers<\/strong>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coilaudio.com\/ca70ps6.html\">CA-70<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coilaudio.com\/ca286ps6.html\">CA-286<\/a>. It was a pleasure meeting with <strong>Tony Buchen<\/strong> at his studio, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kingsizesoundlabs.com\/\"><strong>Kingsize Soundlabs<\/strong><\/a>&#8221; located in North East LA. We had a wonderful chat with Tony and learn all about his huge collection of vintage instruments and gear.<\/p>\n<p>Tony Buchen is an Australian, <strong>ARIA<\/strong> (Australian Grammy) <strong>nominated producer\/writer\/mixer\/engineer\/string arranger\/composer<\/strong> based in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>Tony began his musical career as the bassist and frontman of the <strong>Baggsmen<\/strong> (formerly known as <strong>The Hive<\/strong>). In the early 2000\u2019s the band achieved great success in Australia and became the featured artist on Australia\u2019s esteemed<strong> Triple J Radio<\/strong>. During this time the band played at all of the country\u2019s major festivals: <strong>The Big Day Out<\/strong>,<strong> Sydney Festival<\/strong>, and<strong> the Falls Festival<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Around this time Tony saw an opportunity and started to produce his band\u2019s records on his own. During his time in the US, Tony fell in love with the American pace of life and depth of musicianship.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, Tony decided to relocate to Los Angeles, bringing his collection of gear with him. He is currently based out of his studio \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kingsizesoundlabs.com\/\">Kingsize Soundlabs<\/a>\u201d located in North East LA.<\/p>\n<p>Tony\u2019s discography of work is emblematic of his eclectic musical taste. Tony loves the raw whit of the <strong>Beastie Boys<\/strong>, the masterful songwriting of the <strong>Beatles<\/strong> and <strong>Dylan<\/strong>, the gritty soul of <strong>James Brown<\/strong>, the experimentalism of <strong>Jimi Hendrix<\/strong>, and many more. In the studio, Tony brings together guitars, dum machines, synthesizers, and samplers to create the unique sounds that have made him one of Australia\u2019s most versatile producers.
