That gives us a total of 12 which is more than enough to record a drum kit and quite frankly a live band in a small studio like mine it\u2019s perfect.<\/p>\n<p>Next up we are going to go for some speakers and also headphones, you probably won\u2019t be surprised that I\u2019m going to go to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avantlink.com\/click.php?tt=cl&amp;merchant_id=c298edea-2204-4131-ac36-d78075fe910d&amp;website_id=ff9769db-4f13-4e32-9cc8-40adef0a985d&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sweetwater.com%2Fstore%2Fdetail%2FLP6--kali-audio-lp-6-6.5-inch-powered-studio-monitor\">Kali LP-6\u2019s<\/a>. I\u2019m a big fan, but I don\u2019t know who wouldn\u2019t be they sound fantastic and they are only $298 for a pair!<\/p>\n<p>Headphones would allow me to check the sound but we\u2019re going to put them on the back burner for now because we can defiantly mix on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avantlink.com\/click.php?tt=cl&amp;merchant_id=c298edea-2204-4131-ac36-d78075fe910d&amp;website_id=ff9769db-4f13-4e32-9cc8-40adef0a985d&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sweetwater.com%2Fstore%2Fdetail%2FLP6--kali-audio-lp-6-6.5-inch-powered-studio-monitor\">Kali LP-6\u2019s.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now let&#8217;s go for a full set of mics from Shure. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avantlink.com\/click.php?tt=cl&amp;merchant_id=c298edea-2204-4131-ac36-d78075fe910d&amp;website_id=ff9769db-4f13-4e32-9cc8-40adef0a985d&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sweetwater.com%2Fstore%2Fdetail%2FPGADrumKit7--shure-pga-drum-kit-7\">The Shure PGA Drum Kit 7<\/a> comes with a Shure PGA52, 3 PGA56\u2019s, a PGA57 and 2 PGA81\u2019s. That will cover most situations but I\u2019m also going to add in an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avantlink.com\/click.php?tt=cl&amp;merchant_id=c298edea-2204-4131-ac36-d78075fe910d&amp;website_id=ff9769db-4f13-4e32-9cc8-40adef0a985d&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sweetwater.com%2Fstore%2Fdetail%2FSM57--shure-sm57-cardioid-dynamic-instrument-microphone\">SM57<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re still missing a vocal mic, there are a couple of old favorites of mine that aren\u2019t on Sweetwater. I think I\u2019m going to go with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avantlink.com\/click.php?tt=cl&amp;merchant_id=c298edea-2204-4131-ac36-d78075fe910d&amp;website_id=ff9769db-4f13-4e32-9cc8-40adef0a985d&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sweetwater.com%2Fstore%2Fdetail%2FAT4050--audio-technica-at4050-large-diaphragm-condenser-microphone\">Audio-Technica AT4050<\/a>. This microphone is a pretty amazing vocal microphone.<\/p>\n<p>Next up we have ribbon Microphones, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avantlink.com\/click.php?tt=cl&amp;merchant_id=c298edea-2204-4131-ac36-d78075fe910d&amp;website_id=ff9769db-4f13-4e32-9cc8-40adef0a985d&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sweetwater.com%2Fstore%2Fdetail%2FR10--royer-r-10-ribbon-microphone\">Royer R-10<\/a> is the mic I am drawn to, it\u2019s a great ribbon mic lets add it to our list. Since we\u2019re trying to put together a home studio that can make albums we still need a DAW. If we get <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avantlink.com\/click.php?tt=cl&amp;merchant_id=c298edea-2204-4131-ac36-d78075fe910d&amp;website_id=ff9769db-4f13-4e32-9cc8-40adef0a985d&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sweetwater.com%2Fstore%2Fdetail%2FPTSubMon--avid-pro-tools-software-monthly-subscription-automatic-renewal\">Pro Tools<\/a> which I use, It\u2019s not going to be cheap, but there is a subscription option that may be cheating the budget.<\/p>\n<p>As you know I\u2019ve been mixing in my mixing basics series using a lot of stock plugins.
