In 1994, Leckie produced Radiohead\u2019s second album \u2018The Bends\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Leckie and Radiohead began work on\u00a0The Bends\u00a0at\u00a0RAK Studios, London, in February 1994. After an international tour in May and June, recording resumed at\u00a0Abbey Road\u00a0in London and\u00a0the Manor\u00a0in Oxfordshire. Radiohead moved away from the\u00a0grunge\u00a0style of their debut album\u00a0Pablo Honey\u00a0(1993), incorporating cryptic lyrics, greater use of keyboards, more abrasive guitar tracks and more restrained arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>The Bends\u00a0produced six charting\u00a0singles: &#8220;My Iron Lung&#8221; (released as an EP in 1994), the double A-side &#8220;Planet Telex \/ High and Dry&#8221;, &#8220;Fake Plastic Trees&#8221;, &#8220;Just&#8221;, Radiohead&#8217;s first top-five UK single &#8220;Street Spirit (Fade Out)&#8221;, and &#8220;The Bends&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The Bends\u2019\u00a0received greater acclaim than\u00a0Radiohead\u2019s first album \u2018Pablo Honey\u2019, including a nomination for\u00a0Best British Album\u00a0at the\u00a01996 Brit Awards; it elevated Radiohead from a\u00a0one-hit-wonder\u00a0into one of the most recognized British bands.
