He played in bands, but as he got older realized that you can&#8217;t just decide to be a rockstar, and then all of the sudden you become one. After this, he started thinking about what other options there are in the music industry.<\/p>\n<p>To figure out what direction he wanted to go in in the industry, he sought internship opportunities and it was through this work that he figured out he wanted to be hands on in music and figured out how to work ProTools, Sound Design, etc.<\/p>\n<p>To get more training and to learn more of the basics, he went to two different schools, one of which was a Community College, and the other was Recording Connections.<\/p>\n<p>After this, Eric wanted to seek paid job opportunities. Instead of waiting around for an opportunity to come to him, he googled recording studios in LA and sent his resume to all the studios he could find. After getting no response, he started just emailing Engineers directly. One of which, was Warren!<\/p>\n<p>Out of all the people Eric emailed, Warren was one of the most qualified he reached out to, and he even second guessed sending the email since he thought he would never get a reply from someone this established in recording and mixing.<\/p>\n<p>Warren ended up being one of the only people who replied and Eric got an internship with him, which then lead to a full time job.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to remember that you never know who is going to respond or see your work\/resume, so it&#8217;s important to not doubt yourself and to try every possible opportunity you can.
