We launched our first episode yesterday so check that out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bZNMhk2DCnk\">here<\/a>, if you haven&#8217;t already.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll be releasing new episodes every 2 weeks, or so.<\/p>\n<p>But I digress!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=B_S_FUBH4cI\">Today&#8217;s video<\/a> is all about <strong>IK Multimedia&#8217;s<\/strong> &#8220;<strong>iLoud MTM MKII<\/strong>&#8221; \u2013 a pair of speakers I&#8217;m well familiar with (in previous iterations), and which a good many of my producer friends swear by.<\/p>\n<p>If you desire to own a pair, after watching the video, you can pre-order them <a href=\"http:\/\/sweetwater.sjv.io\/xkYk5O\">here<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>As with any new product release, I&#8217;m always looking for what has been improved upon, what sets it apart from the competition, and what scenarios it works best for.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/producelikeapro.com\/blog\/tonex-one-review\/\">IK Multimedia TONEX ONE Review: AI Amp Models in a Compact Pedal<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>So, right out of the box, the first thing I notice is the back-panel buttons:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>+2\/-3 db for low-end &amp; high-end \u2013 60 Hz, 50Hz, 40Hz (defaulting to 80Hz)<\/li>\n<li>Sensitivity control for +4\/-10 db<\/li>\n<li>Input volume control<\/li>\n<li>A 1\/4&#8243;\/XLR input<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Pluggy Dongs&#8221;? Mark will elaborate in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=B_S_FUBH4cI\">the video<\/a>&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>USB connection (we fumble with how to connect this between the speakers \u2013 perhaps the manual would help!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We then move on to reading the manual and discover that the included microphone, paired with IK Multimedia&#8217;s &#8220;<strong>X Monitor<\/strong>&#8221; software, helps you to calibrate your speakers.<\/p>\n<p>Among other features, you&#8217;ll get a readout of pre and post-response curves, and over 20 emulations of popular industry-standard monitor speakers, giving you the ability to hear your mixes in different contexts \u2013 without having to physically playback your mixes in other environments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>X Monitor also allows for:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full control of the speakers&#8217; back-panel.<\/li>\n<li>Firmware updates.<\/li>\n<li>Diagnostics of the speakers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Brilliant!<\/p>\n<p>We then move on to the calibration process, which was surprisingly painless. A few button pushes on the back of each speaker, four corresponding mic placements, and done!<\/p>\n<p>Following that, we listen to a couple of reference tracks to test out the calibration (lows, mids, and highs) toggling be preset modes to compare\/contrast.<\/p>\n<p>One last thing to point out is that, for the size, these compact speakers give off a great low-end presence.
