Upon an initial listening, the clarity and detail in the audio reproduction were immediately noticeable. The speakers deliver a wide soundstage, meaning the ideal listening area or &#8216;sweet spot&#8217; felt very wide and the front to back depth was very evident.<\/p>\n<p>Comparative Listening Experience<\/p>\n<p>To assess the performance of the Amphion One25A, we used music we were very familiar with. Using songs I&#8217;ve written, produced, engineered and\/or mixed mean I know specifically what I&#8217;m listening for, ensuring a fair evaluation based on known references. Plus it was great to be able make comparisons against the ATC SCM25A speakers which one of the Brighton Electric House Engineers, Alex, knew very well, in of course a room he also knew very well. ATC and particularly the ATC SCM25A&#8217;s, with good reason, are very highly regarded in the audio community.<\/p>\n<p>High Frequencies and Clarity<\/p>\n<p>In terms of high-frequency response, the Amphion One25A showcased excellent detail. Vocals were particularly prominent, offering a &#8220;phantom center&#8221; effect that made them feel more present in the mix. This clarity is crucial for mixing and mastering, as it allows engineers to make informed decisions regarding vocal placement and effects.<\/p>\n<p>Midrange Performance<\/p>\n<p>The midrange response of the One25A was characterised by a clear and detailed presentation. Instruments such as guitars and pianos were well-separated, avoiding the muddiness often found in other speaker systems. This separation is vital for mixing, as it allows each element to occupy its own space within the mix.<\/p>\n<p>Low-End Response<\/p>\n<p>One of the standout features of the Amphion One25A speakers is their low-end performance. The integrated 10-inch bass driver provides a solid foundation without overwhelming the mix.
