I wanted the music to speak for itself. The studio to be the draw. I let the logos, the gear, the big tracking rooms do the talking. I stayed in the background because it felt safer there. And for a while, I believed that was the right approach.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">But then I looked around.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">I\u2019d run multiple studios, from small private rooms to large commercial facilities. The ones that stayed busy, the ones that\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"italic\">thrived<\/span><span class=\"\">, were never the ones with the most gear or the flashiest control rooms. They were the ones where the engineers and producers built real trust, real relationships, and a real reputation.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"font-[700]\">Studios don\u2019t get booked. I mentored young engineers who showed up every day, put in the hours, and poured themselves into every project. Many of them went on to win GRAMMYs with artists like Adele, P!nk, Taylor Swift, Bon Iver. Others built successful sync licensing companies, became huge tour managers and many other industry leading jobs. They didn\u2019t get there by accident. They invested in\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"italic\">themselves<\/span><span class=\"\">. Their\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"italic\">name<\/span><span class=\"\">. Their\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"italic\">reputation<\/span><span class=\"\">. Their\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"italic\">brand<\/span><span class=\"\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">So if you\u2019re in that same place I was, in fear, hesitant to \u201cmake it about you\u201d, here\u2019s what I\u2019ve learned:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<h3><span class=\"\">1. This is a good problem to have &#8211; once you\u2019re successful.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">If you\u2019re still building your business, visibility isn\u2019t a liability, it\u2019s oxygen. Don\u2019t worry about \u201crelying too much on yourself\u201d until you\u2019ve got a waitlist of clients.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<h3><span class=\"\">2. Don\u2019t ignore what works.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">If people are reaching out because they trust you\u2014because of\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"italic\">your<\/span><span class=\"\">\u00a0posts, your insights, your story, that\u2019s not a vanity metric. That\u2019s working. Embrace it.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<h3><span class=\"\">3. People don\u2019t connect with companies. They connect with you.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">I\u2019ve watched studio Instagram pages struggle while personal accounts flourish. Because when you talk about your process, share a behind-the-scenes moment, or reflect on a mix\u2014you\u2019re building connection. That\u2019s where the work comes from.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<h3><span class=\"\">4. You don\u2019t have to choose &#8211; you can be both.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">You\u2019re not just &#8220;Jane Smith.&#8221; You\u2019re &#8220;Jane Smith from Atlas Sound.&#8221; You can build the business and build\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"italic\">you<\/span><span class=\"\">.
