A self-built sanctuary of sound where analogue soul meets digital precision. It\u2019s part cave, part cathedral. In parallel his affable technically dazzling YouTube channel built a massive audience. He has collaborated with companies like Neural DSP, Victory Amps, Ernie Ball Music Man and Bare Knuckle Pickups and is now fronting a new band <em>Vower<\/em> whose music is written, recorded and mixed in-house quite literally.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"ember66\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__heading-3\">A Makeshift Masterpiece<\/h3>\n<p id=\"ember67\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Rabea\u2019s studio began life as a residential property and was converted by the drummer in his previous band for content creation. When Rabea took over he reinforced the space, treated it for sound isolation and split it into two key zones: a downstairs live room and tracking space and an upstairs mix room.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember68\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">\u201cThis is my little home away from home\u201d he says. \u201cI can track guitars, rehearse with the band, stream rehearsals, mix singles and shoot videos. He is especially fond of the UAD ecosystem not least because of his friendship with Tom Waterman who helped him optimise the studio setup early on.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember72\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m proud of the results I get in here\u201d he says. \u201cYou work with what you\u2019ve got and this space gives me enough flexibility to create high-quality work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember73\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Monitoring is handled via <a href=\"https:\/\/sweetwater.sjv.io\/jejobM\">Neumann KH310s<\/a> downstairs and Genelec with a sub upstairs in the mix room. I\u2019ll usually model it as a Coles or AEA ribbon and just smash it.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"ember92\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__heading-3\">Recording Drums and Layering Guitars<\/h3>\n<p id=\"ember93\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">The live room features a <a href=\"https:\/\/sweetwater.sjv.io\/DyMXv5\">DW Collector\u2019s Series kit<\/a> originally purchased by Rabea\u2019s old bandmate and now lovingly maintained.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember94\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">\u201cI started as a drummer\u201d he says. \u201cSo recording drums still excites me.
