Whether it is Logic, Ableton, or Pro Tools, the virtual instruments alone are enough to make fully realised productions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"885\" data-end=\"952\">So I wanted to answer a question we all already know the answer to:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"954\" data-end=\"1007\"><strong data-start=\"954\" data-end=\"1007\">Can you make a great record with affordable gear?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1009\" data-end=\"1025\">Yes. Absolutely.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1027\" data-end=\"1040\">In this case:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1041\" data-end=\"1194\">\n<li data-section-id=\"lv26k3\" data-start=\"1041\" data-end=\"1067\">Interface, around \u00a3200<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1yvukhr\" data-start=\"1068\" data-end=\"1103\">Microphone, inexpensive dynamic<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"74elvi\" data-start=\"1104\" data-end=\"1132\">Mostly stock instruments<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"3xptoz\" data-start=\"1133\" data-end=\"1194\">Two premium plug-ins, used for convenience, not necessity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1196\" data-end=\"1234\">The only truly analogue elements were:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1235\" data-end=\"1269\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1tlxgkh\" data-start=\"1235\" data-end=\"1254\">Acoustic guitar<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1lwgcmr\" data-start=\"1255\" data-end=\"1269\">Lead vocal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1271\" data-end=\"1308\">Everything else lived inside the box.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1r8p8hi\" data-start=\"1315\" data-end=\"1347\"><\/h2>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1r8p8hi\" data-start=\"1315\" data-end=\"1347\">The Secret Ingredient: People<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1349\" data-end=\"1419\">Before we get into the technical side, let\u2019s be clear about something.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1421\" data-end=\"1459\">Gear does not make records.
