We have such a fantastic interview and studio tour lined up for you today! I went to Canton House Studios to meet with 15X Grammy Award Winner, Jaycen Joshua.
Joshua began his career as a mix artist in 2006 when he co-founded The Penua Project with his mentor Dave Pensado. Joshua has received numerous Grammy Awards and mixed multiple Grammy Award-winning songs, including Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” and Jamie Foxx’s “Blame It,” in addition to over 60 #1 singles and albums. He has worked with some of the most successful hits including Justin Bieber and Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito.” Joshua has collaborated with a variety of artists, including Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg, Seal, Nas, Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, R. Kelly, Celine Dion, J-Lo, T.I., and Usher. At Canton House Studio, Jaycen talks all about the mix engineer experience like where he began in the industry, where he finds artists, and the advice he would give to new mixers. One of the biggest pieces of advice he gives in this interview is for artists to collaborate with others and to expand your perspective as much as you can. Jaycen has also developed a plugin called God Particle with the Plugin Company Cradle. Keep updated with us for an upcoming video about this new plugin and how it can improve your mixes! |
