Audient Sono Review & Giveaway (Recording a Full Band)

Audient Sono-1

Today we’re going to review Audient’s new product the “Sono

This is a wonderful device because it’s an interface geared towards guitar players, and as we say in the United Kingdom it contains a “valve” or as Americans say “tube.

It’s a rather nice piece, I got to play with it at the NAMM show, and it’s a really cool device but we’re going to push it’s boundaries a little bit. Of course I’m going to play Guitar but we’re also going to record a song with it using it’s built in micpres.

We’re going to add the Audient ASP800 using an optical cable since that is an option as well. – We are going to use the Audient Sono in every way, shape, and form.

We’re going to use it as a guitar amp modeler/ virtual instrument-ish thing, we’re also going to record vocals through it using its own onboard mic pres but best of all we’re going to daisy chain it to an ASP800 and record a drum kit.

This just shows you can buy this initially start recording but also expand upon it.

Let’s get started:

I’m really impressed, I love Audient Products, Love their mic pres I love that this looks like something a guitar player would use and pretty darn simple.– Well actually that’s an understatement it’s really really simple to use.

We did the vocals and guitars through the Sono and we use the ASP800 to extend and put 8 Mics on the kit.

The only reason why I didn’t use just 2 mics on the kit is that I briefly watched a couple of reviews and realized they were completely focused on the fact that it’s a guitar interface, and it is but it’s also an Interface. So you can record vocals, Drums, and all kinds of there fun stuff.

What is wonderful about the Audient Sono is you can win one of these (Scroll up to enter!)

We have decided that we will also throw in a Nobels Mini pedal, we have an extra one hanging around the studio and they’re a great company. – So it really is a Guitar players prize.

Thank you ever so much Audient for letting us giveaway the Sono to someone in our wonderful community!
