Hi Friends,
I hope you´re doing marvellously well!
Today, I´m interviewing the great Ben Grosse. Ben has been one of the most sought after mixers and producers in the Rock world for the last decade. He´s worked with bands and artists such as Good Charlotte, Breaking Benjamin, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Sevendust, Filter, Thirty Seconds To Mars and many more.
In the interview, Ben tells us how he started out as a producer and mixer and what eventually gave him the edge to becoming successful.
He also gives us a complete tour of his studio “The Mix Room”, walks us through his beautiful gear and shares how he likes to use it.

So he said he’s been at that studio forever, I hope there is a shower and a change of cloths there! I’d never leave either. Nice studio… and with an SSL console that plays Pong, that’s awesome. Is there one that plays Asteroids?
Very interesting about the KRK’s. If you had bought those super expensive Genelecs you might have slapped yourself in the forehead and said, “Oh, I could have had a V8!”
So the reason producers with, um, experience have young interns is for their young ears to hear those 12k+ ringing tones?
Thanks Loren! Haha I love Pong, unfortunately I was never very good at it! Yes young interns are great for picking up 12k and above high frequency problems! haha Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
P.S I just sent you an email.
