I recently came across a very cool music production app for your phone or tablet. It´s called “Stagelight“.
After playing around with it for a while, I really fell in love with it.
As a producer I have to travel a lot, so I really need to find ways to make music while I´m traveling. Apps like this are a great opportunity for me (and you!) to get creative, even when we´re not in the studio.
It will allow you to quickly record scratch tracks of song ideas wherever you are.
It can also inspire you just by being a completely different interface. I find that working with new tools can often be a great thing: Getting away from your regular habits and ways of doing things can really spark your creativity and give you new ideas.
Of course there are plenty of these music apps out there, but Stagelight is definitely one of the most advanced ones out there:
It will let you adjust filters and LFOs on synths to switch up the sound, allow for you to program beats with swing-feel and different time signatures and it provides an astonishing quality of loops, sounds and samples.
