Lewitt Audio Tour & Interview with Founder & CEO Roman Perschon

As you know I’m a huge fan of Lewitt – both the company and products. Their microphones are made extremely well and they care about the music community.

They’re a company the industry needs and have made their mark making music creation affordable to everyone!

Today we’re at the headquarters and design centre of Lewitt Microphones meeting with Roman Perschon the Founder and CEO of Lewitt!

Lewitt is in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Vienna Austria. – it’s absolutely incredible.

The headquarters occupies the entire second floor of their building and they’re in the process of building their own studio room where they will be able to evaluate all their microphones on site. This room will have space and ability to host live performances for a full test of their products capabilities.

The Lewitt team is in constant communication with both local and worldwide communities, listening to feedback to ensure they are producing what the industry needs/wants.

There are all kinds of different departments working in-house including mechanical, electronic, and software development departments.

Lewitt designs and develops their own custom testing devices for measuring and ensuring the quality of all their products.

Some of the custom devices they have built include a high SPL tester. Which has a speaker module at the end. The trick is to generate a high SPL signal that is not distorted because you want to measure the possible distortion of the capsule. – that in its self is quite a technical feat.

They also have an artificial wind device which tests how a microphone reacts to wind. – The trick is to create a very uniform wind movement to make it measurable.
