Home Studio On A Budget
I met the artist, Jay Clifford, lead singer of ‘Jump Little Children’ while making Howie Day’s Album ‘Sound The Alarm’ at Echo Park Studios in Bloomington, Indiana. Jay was writing with Howie for the album, as well as playing piano, guitar and string arranging. We struck up a friendship and Jay asked me to produce his solo Album. We mustered an amazing collection of musicians Travis McNabb (Sugarland, Better Than Ezra), Dan Rothchild (Sheryl Crow, Beck, Fiona Apple), David LeVita (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Lana Del Rey) and Greg Suran (Colbie Caillat, Goo Goo Dolls, Jewel).
We tracked a beautiful record full of Jay’s songs with these amazing performers contributions and brought it along to Mark to mix! The single ‘Know when to Walk Away’ had it’s video Directed by Zach Braff and was featured in an episode of Grey’s Anatomy.
