Today, we have another great demo and giveaway for you! In this video, we will be trying out the wonderful new MA-201fet from Mojave Audio! To test out this mic, I am going to be recording a whole song – guitar, bass, tambourine, vocals, and all! I have used Mojave microphones before, but not to record all the parts of a song before, so this is going to be a lot of fun.

Part of what makes me so excited to try out this microphone is the people who were involved in creating it. Mojave Audio was started by John Jennings and David Royer, and they brought their first microphone to Dusty Wakeman, the world-class engineer who ran Mad Dog Studios in LA for many, many years. There are a lot of talented people involved in this company and the making of these microphones, so I am very excited to see how it sounds!
The MA-201fet is a large diaphragm, phantom-powered, solid-state condenser microphone with a fixed cardioid pattern. It is the same design as their more expensive tube microphone, but a FET version, and the two share a lot of the same characteristics. This microphone gives warm, full-bodied reproductions of vocals and instruments, with none of the high frequency distortion artifacts that are common with modern condenser microphones.
Each and every one of their microphones is carefully tested and evaluated, so you can be sure you are getting a well-made, high quality microphone. I loved the way this microphone captured everything I needed to for this track. We are going to give you the multitracks from the song so you can hear for yourself how wonderful this mic sounds!
