As always sound advice from you Warren.
Like yourself I’ve heard this thing myself before. Personally I love just hearing what the idea might be. An acquaintance of mine that sadly I know longer associate with used to do that constantly. He would spend hours describing what the whole concept of whatever was and debate or talk it and generally put me to sleep. By the time he was done, I’d be ready to leave.
I guess there’s some kind of hypnotic thing that happens to some folks. Once they get that phrase/word “Producer” into their Psyche…they change. (Disillusions of Godhood?) I don’t know. But it’s more sad then anything else. Like listening to a boring Board of Directors Meeting or tolerating a bad PowerPoint Presentation.
Linda & I wish you, your family, and everyone in PLAP a Happy and Safe Holiday Season.

Peace Y’all!! and have a Bodacious Day.

I wonder if, in the case of some established producers, it isn’t a holdover attitude from reel to reel tape production when dilly dallying (in the eyes of the funding producer) is a money matter. Limited tracks, time, and tape aren’t limited like they used to be, but gut attitudes might change slowly. ??
I think doing a quick recording take (I.e., trying it out) is like a sketch; it get’s everyone on the same page. Like you’ve said, talking about music is like…
    Anyway, I’m ready to create.

Hi @l_scott_knight:disqus Thanks for your great comment! I don’t see it with the established guys, mainly because if they get the reputation of not encouraging creativity then artists won’t want to work with them. Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren

Thanks Wazza, not a debating society, but a creating society, and if you don’t like what you’ve created, save it for a later date,
as hindsight can be your greatest ally, if you really don’t like it after that, you have a choice of an erase function, or consign it permanently to landfill. The greatest pleasure is the journey, it’s just a matter of whether you find the destination to your liking! Peace, Love and best wishes to all from the Antipodes.
