Steinberg AXR4 Demo & Giveaway

STEINBERG AXR4-1

Hello everybody! This is going to be a very fun video!

Today we’re trying out the Steinberg AXR4!

The best thing about this is that not only are we reviewing this wonderful interface but they’re also letting us give it away!

This is a $3,499 unit it’s really substantially well made and we’re going to find out just how wonderful it sounds.

I’m excited by this because they have incorporated some Rupert Neve Technology “the Silk.”

I’ve read a lot about this online to figure out how to describe this properly but it has a lot to do with recreating the sound we know and love of Rupert Neve Circuitry.

Those of you who know of Rupert Neve know that he started off as a transformer designer who made some of the best transformers ever inside Hiwatt amps and early Laney amps. – these are amazing pieces of equipment.

So if there is a guy that understands transformers and the sound of them, who better than of course Mr. Rupert Neve.

What we decided to do was track a whole bunch of instruments and use it at 0, halfway, and full, that way you can hear what the silk circuitry is doing. Of course, you can hear the interface working itself.

Steinberg has been known for many years, producing some of the best stuff out there. – It’s German engineering and super well made.

The AXR4 is a Thunderbolt 2 Audio interface, it is 32-bit and a sample rate of up to 384kHz recording in playback. – So pretty insane quality.

Hybrid Microphone preamps with Rupert Neve Designs SILK emulation, which gives us that transformer sound. – There are many professional situations and this will cover everything.

Steinberg has a great reputation because they were the first people I knew that really got involved in digital. – If there is anybody who is going to be good at this stuff it’s going to be them.

Alright, I think we should start using it! We’re going to do drums, some piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, some bass, and we will have David of the Workday Release do some singing with those settings as well.

I hope you enjoyed the unit! It was fun to do it as individual elements instead of putting everything together. When we compound it as a song it is absolutely fantastic but you don’t hear all the individual instruments with the IO and the SILK working in all of those different elements. – It really is great!

Don’t forget to enter to win the giveaway above!

Thank you Steinberg, for allowing us to give this AXR4 away to our community!I hope you enjoyed this, It’s really well made great German built product from a company we love, and love what they are doing, and sounds fantastic.
