    Great stuff as usual Warren!

I watched the video the other day, and I couldn’t agree more with your opinion of Graham. I had the unique opportunity to meet and have lunch with him at NAMM as well. Great guy, positive attitude, with nothing more than the willingness to do good things for others. Same goes for you Warren!
    Cheers!!

Without creativity, we’re only talking technique. Technique is disincarnated, excellent technicians are easy to find, are interchangeable and technique can be learnt or applied with books or recipes. That ain’t gonna make you a good chef though, just an average one if you’re solely technically proficient. Ancient greeks set out 3 forms of intelligence;. (1) the Episteme, i.e. the ability to abstraction, to handling abstract concepts; (2) the Techne, i.e technical mastery, and; (3) the Metis, a blend of savviness, cunning plans (yes Balderic), tricks etc. Without the latter, nothing that differentiates one individual from the bunch.

Creativity is what makes one unique and the more metis one applies do whatever one is doing, provided that technical skills are up to the task, the more creative” will the end result be. As recording/producing music is about making a unique piece of work, possibly art, and not a standard product, of course, creativity is the secret sauce. I say, that is a tad mundane old chap! But it’s jolly good to repeat again and again that, no matter what mistakes one makes, what matter is what makes one unique and not necessarily better than others.
Thus, when an imbecile does not know, he pretends to know. When an intelligent man does not know, he invents…
