Review & Giveaway: BAE G10 EQ

I´ve been a fan of BAE Audio for several years. – Why?

I recently gave the G10 run and compared it to my vintage API560, which it is modeled after. I tested both EQs on multiple different sound sources to find out the differences and similarities. Watch my comparison here:

What I love about both EQs is that they retain fast transients beautifully and let you sculpt the tone in a natural and smooth way, which makes them perfect for mixing drums, whether it be kicks, snares or overheads, as well as acoustic guitars.

Both are transformer based and feature some of the best analogue circuitry out there. The special character and analogue vibe introduced by the transformers make these EQs great for tracking and coloring your sound at the source.

The main difference I found is that the G10 has a very rich low-end, while the API has more midrange bite. – Both of which sound amazing when used on the right instruments.

However, the full bodied character of the G10 makes it ideal for mixing kick, bass and any instrument you want to add some warmth or girth to.
