Unboxing and first setup
After unboxing, we placed the Precision 6 MKII pair on the meter bridge with the included isolation pods. This simple step made an immediate difference, decoupling the speakers from the console surface and keeping the low end tight. With everything wired flat, no EQ and no calibration, the first listen gave us a true “out of the box” impression.

First impressions
Straight away, the Precision 6 MKII delivered a surprisingly full low end for a 6.5-inch design. Kick energy around 60 Hz was solid and well defined, even before calibration. The mids felt open and unclouded, making it easy to judge vocal placement and instrument separation. The top end was lively, bringing clarity and detail, though without crossing into harshness.
Calibration with ARC
Engaging ARC X was quick and painless. With the supplied mic plugged straight into the back of the speaker, a handful of positions were measured around the sweet spot. Once stored, the change was immediately noticeable: the low end gained extra reach and control, the high mids smoothed out, and the overall image snapped into focus. Stereo width felt wider and more stable, and front-to-back depth became easier to perceive.
Everyday use
The Precision 6 MKII makes mix decisions come quickly. Vocals sat clearly against guitars, bass remained controlled, and ambience cues were easy to place. Long listening sessions felt comfortable thanks to the balanced top end post-calibration. The included accessories — isolation pods and ARC mic — mean you’re ready to go straight out of the box without needing third-party tools.
